According to media reports, the May-December relationship kicked off between Jan. 13, 2017, and lasted until Nov. 11 the same year.
Knudsen was a 21-year classroom veteran and was assigned to lead the school’s drama club. During the after-school club, the student and Knudsen became close and began sharing illicit substances with the girl later enrolling in one of her gal pal’s classes.
The relationship went from zero to 60 quickly with the pair engaging in frequent sex romps.
On Friday, Knudsen escaped prison but is now on parole for the rest of her life and must register as a sex offender and is forbidden from contacting the unnamed student. The mitigating factor was that the age of consent in New Jersey is 17. If she breaches parole, she will go to prison.

For Montana teacher Michelle Solis, it started with rumours that there were raunchy images of the educator floating around the internet. But when cops started looking into her nocturnal hijinks they discovered an alleged sexual relationship with an underage former student.
Solis is now facing a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor under the age of 16. She has pleaded not guilty.
Cops say they were tipped to the alleged illicit sexual affair by a concerned parent who had learned about the raunchy photos and videos. Solis has been a teacher for 20 years and has pleaded not guilty.

Meanwhile, in Canada … a Petrolia-area teacher has been ordered to begin a one-year jail sentence for sexually exploiting a teen after losing an appeal, according to The Sarnia Observer.
Longtime teacher Gillian Boere — who taught at the town’s Hillcrest Elementary School — had pleaded not guilty to the charge involving a 16-year-old boy who wasn’t a student. She was convicted in January 2022.
In August of that year, she was sentenced to a year in jail but was quickly released on bail pending an appeal.
Superior Court Justice J. Ross Macfarlane torpedoed the appeal gambit. Boere had argued she wasn’t in a position of trust, there were legal errors in assessing her credibility and reliability and the trial judge erred in dismissing her constitutional challenge to mandatory minimum sentences.

Her legal team wanted house arrest. The Criminal Code calls for a minimum 90 days in the slammer.
Boere’s dalliance in the taboo began over the summer and at the time was 34 years old and twice the boy’s age. The lad was a willing participant in the carnal capers, the court heard.
The judge noted that Boere was a respected teacher who did not have a previous criminal record and that there was no evidence of grooming or pre-planning. At the time, she had recently separated from her spouse.
She will be on the Sex Offender Information Registration Act list for 10 years.
The Lambton Kent District school board fired Boere in 2021.
