Danielle Ruhl has admitted that she cries a lot since filing for divorce from her husband Nick Thompson after their marriage on Love Is Blind. Love Is Blind season 2 premiered on Netflix in February and two people specifically seemed to have kicked it off together right away. From the first talk, Danielle and Nick just knew that they were meant for each other. Never putting anyone else into the equation, they quickly became the first couple of the season to get engaged.
Through ups and downs, this couple seemed to be the perfect balance of crazy and settled down. Danielle and Nick had their fair share of arguments on the show, all of which seemed to stem from insecurities that Danielle was struggling with. Nick however was always able to calm Danielle’s nerves, bring her out of her panic attacks, and reassure her that she was the only one for him. This was due to his more reserved, level-headed, and laid back personality.
Danielle was criticized by fans online for not seeming as upset as they would have expected her to be after the news of their divorce came out, making her feel obligated to come forward about how she has really been feeling. The Love Is Blind 2 star admitted that she cries every day, sometimes so much that she can barely even see out of her eyes. She calls fans out saying that no one wants to see her crying all over Instagram. Danielle could post videos of herself crying over the divorce, but she would rather try to move on with her life and cope with it the best way that she knows how.
Nick had some reservations about marrying Danielle due to the arguments that they kept having, and for a moment on screen, fans were led to believe he might say no at the altar. Nick did end up saying “I Do”, and they seemed to be the happiest couple on the show. Danielle mentioned that the two had planned to do another wedding in the future, so that they could do it their way, with all of their family attending. They even appeared to be the most successful couple in the most recent episode of the show and had talks of wanting kids in the next few years. US Weekly, however, reports that Danielle had filed for divorce last month, leaving fans shocked.
Danielle and Nick were the last couple together from season 2 as their co-stars Jarette and Iyanna had announced their split days prior to them. Danielle seems to be taking the divorce fairly hard. Even though she is the one who filed for it, the criticism she is facing from fans is only going to make the process harder on both her and Nick. The couple did not comment on what ended their seemingly meant to be relationship, so fans can only assume that it was just too fast and too soon for these two.
