A father has a compassionate love for his children. When his children go through life struggles, he will listen to them and let them know I’m here to help you get through it. God will do the same thing for us when we’re going through our life struggles. “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.” (Psalm 103:13) NIV

A father’s love is unconditional. He shows love to his children by having a great relationship with them. Even when they make mistakes, he still loves them like God loves us. “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8) NLT

A father’s love will discipline his children when they do something wrong.. God will do the same for us when we do something wrong. “Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them.” (Proverbs 13:24) NLT

A father’s love is patient. He cares for his children and he is very patient with them like God is with us. “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud.” (1 Corinthians 13:4) NLT

A father’s love will love his children for the good and bad things they do. Even when they disappoint him or make him angry, he still loves them. We can think of God in the same way as we sometimes do things that disappoint or make Him angry but He still loves us. “But you, O Lord are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” (Psalm 86:15) KJV

A father’s love will encourage his children when they are having a bad day, or feeling down and out by telling them, “You can make it, don’t give up, you can do it if you set your mind to it! Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11) NIV

A father’s love will put his own safety on the line to keep his children out of harm’s way just as God will also keep us safe. “The Lord will keep you from all harm; he will watch over your life.” (Psalm 121:7) NIV

A father’s love will instruct, guide, and train his children in the right way. Our Heavenly Father does the same thing for us. “Train up a child in the way he should go: when he is old, he will not depart.” (Proverbs 22:6) KJV

So be encouraged today and always remember: A father’s love will never end for his children as God love will never end for us. “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.” (Lamentations 3:22) NLT

Happy early Father’s Day!
