AUBURN, Ala. – As hundreds of fans rushed the field to celebrate the 2019 Iron Bowl win, Derick Hall stood under the bright lights of Jordan-Hare Stadium and knew he had picked the right school. Three years later, his love for Auburn football has never wavered.
From the second Hall came to campus for his first recruiting visit, he felt love from the Auburn family, and he was drawn in.
“When I first got on campus, I felt that family atmosphere immediately,” Hall says. “It felt really special coming here. It felt like none other.”
In addition to that, Hall was drawn to Auburn because of the competitiveness, the dedication to the Auburn Creed and the values of the university as a whole.
Hall started playing football at 4 years old and while other sports were in the picture, football was his first love. The Gulfport, Mississippi, product grew up playing in pee-wee and rec leagues before moving on to middle school and high school. He credits a lot of his success to the coaches who helped him along the way and still communicates with many of them.
“I’m still close with a lot of those coaches,” Hall said. “They’ve all helped me along the way in a lot of places, helped me become the man I am, helped me grow my knowledge of football. I’m indebted to them. I can’t repay them enough for what they’ve done for me.”
