Cheese Curds, 6/10: Jordan Love has tremendous day of practice on Wednesday - Acme Packing Company

makaanlontong.blogspot.com

It was a really good day for Jordan Love on Wednesday.

The Green Bay Packers’ second-year quarterback got all the first-team reps in the second day of minicamp practice on Wednesday and, after a rough Tuesday, he delivered an excellent performance. Love was slinging the ball all around the field, hitting running backs on wheel routes and receivers deep beyond double-coverage. It was easily the most complete performance he has put together this spring — at least in terms of practices where the media was allowed to observe.

Afterwards, Love got the opportunity to speak to the media, convenient timing after his great day of work. Love took questions on his readiness to play if called upon and, of course, Aaron Rodgers. Specifically, Love said that he and Rodgers have been in contact recently — as recently as a week or so before minicamp — but that he was not aware of what Rodgers’ plans would be for camp.

But with Rodgers gone, Love took advantage of his reps, at least on Wednesday. It was a high after a bit of a low on Tuesday, so his challenge now is to string together good practice after good practice and develop consistency.

The Packers are scheduled to wrap up minicamp with a practice later today.

After his great day, Love spoke to the media for the first time this year. He said he's focused on the things he can control for now, he has a good working relationship with Aaron Rodgers and has spoken to him recently, and he'll be ready to go in week one if Rodgers doesn't return.

Newcomer De’Vondre Campbell brings ‘different dynamic’ to Packers LB group | Packers Wire
Campbell practiced with the Packers for the first time on Wednesday, as the team cut running back Mike Weber to make room for him. Matt LaFleur noted his length as bringing a different dimension to the group and thinks that he can cover running backs and tight ends, though his numbers suggest that might be a stretch.

Rodgers' ability to generate broken tackles and yards after the catch should be the biggest reason he sees the field as a rookie.
