Searching for something romantic to do for Valentine’s Day? Come listen to some of the most romantic music written by three towering composers of western classical music history: Robert and Clara Schumann, and Johannes Brahms.
Robert and Clara’s romantic history is one of the most enduring love stories of all time- from when they initially met when Robert was studying with Clara’s father, Friedrich Wieck to Friedrich’s opposition to their union. Robert was one of Johannes Brahms’ greatest champions, and Brahms reciprocated with loyal friendship, but he also fell in love with Clara. After Robert died, Clara and Johannes shared a profound friendship that is evidenced in their letter exchanges and their compositions.
