Jessica Batten, one of the stars of Netflix's hit dating show, Love Is Blind, recently discussed her new relationship following her disastrous engagement to Mark Cuevas on the series' reunion episodes, Love Is Blind: After The Altar. "We've just been keeping it chill, " she said in a conversation with some of her fellow castmates. The Jessica fans saw in the After The Altar episodes was a very different Jessica than what fans saw in 2020 during the first 10 episodes, and it is likely the influence of being happy in a relationship.
Jessica was at the heart of some of the drama in Love Is Blind when she became part of a love triangle with Amber Pike and Matt Barnett. Barnett picked Amber, leaving Jessica to seemingly settle for Mark. The series painted Jessica as the villain, high-strung and obsessed with Mark being so much younger than her. Jessica's new boyfriend is Benjamin McGrath, a California-based foot and ankle surgeon. Jessica, who is originally from Chicago, moved to Los Angeles after the filming of Love Is Blind to get a fresh start after the drama with Mark on the show, where she met Ben. According to Ben, he has a "passion for sports medicine, surgery, limb salvage, and helping people get back on their feet."
He's A Father
Ben has two children from a previous relationship, a daughter and a son. The proud dad often mentions them on social media and recently described his daughter's kindergarten graduation on his Instagram account as a "wow parenting moment." Jessica appears to be close to the children as well, as she frequently appears in photos and videos with his kids.
He's A Better Match For Jessica Than Mark
One common theme that Jessica discussed during the earlier Love Is Blind episodes was that Mark was 10 years younger than she. "I don't think I could handle anyone bashing my relationship,” she said in a Refinery 29 article. Attending the anniversary party alone, however, was more about Jessica's personal growth since the Love Is Blind experience. "It was more important to just walk back in there by myself. At the end of the day, getting through something on your own is just as great.”
