The Cardinals still control their playoff destiny, even though they made it much too interesting.
It took a fourth down pass breakup in the end zone to prevent a tying touchdown by the Eagles and a highlight-worthy touchdown catch by DeAndre Hopkins for the winning points, but the Cardinals escaped with a 33-26 win over Philadelphia Sunday at State Farm Stadium to remain the NFC's seventh playoff seed.
Kyler Murray had a career-high 406 yards passing, Hopkins had nine catches for 169 yards and the winning score, and Larry Fitzgerald had his first touchdown catch of the season. It barely offset the excellent day from Eagles rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts, who threw for 338 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.
The Cardinals (8-6) piled up 526 yards of offense, overcoming three turnovers (to none for Philadelphia). The Eagles (4-9-1) started slow but managed to tie the game in the third quarter, setting up Hopkins' heroics. The Eagles had two Hail Mary tries at the end of the game, but both were batted down in the end zone.
