Former President Barack Obama dated Alex McNear during his stint at the Occidental College in Los Angeles back in 1982, and during this time they corresponded with letters. One of those letters recently resurfaced as it contained some ambiguous information regarding Barak Obama's sexuality.
Obama wrote McNear when he was only 21 years old "In regard to homosexuality, I must say that I believe this is an attempt to remove oneself from the present, a refusal perhaps to perpetuate the endless farce of earthly life. You see, I make love to men daily, but in the imagination,"
"My mind is androgynous to a great extent and I hope to make it more so until I can think in terms of people, not women as opposed to men. But, in returning to the body, I see that I have been made a man, and physically in life, I choose to accept that contingency," he added.
Obama claimed he wanted to see men and women as equal
According to the New York Post, the 40-year-old letter came to light after Pulitzer Prize winner and Obama biographer David Garrow gave an interview about the former president.
The letter is under the care of Emory University and access to the document is strictly limited, even to the extent that if it weren't for Garrow's good friend Harvey Klehr, the letter wouvnt come to light.
Klehr made a handwritten transcription of the letter and sent it to Garrow, however, there were some redacted parts and, on the matter, Garrow mentioned his opinion "I'm a historian, not a psychologist, but I think it's 'public record' news that a (vast?) majority of human beings have sexual fantasies!" he said via email.
