NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - On March 27, the North Platte High School student council is holding their “Light up the Night” walk event. Participants are encouraged to wear glow-in-the-dark clothing and bring glow sticks, flashlights or headlamps.

The NPHS student council has been hosting this event for the past six years and had to cancel last year due to COVID-19.

Registration and packet pick-up for this year’s event begins at 4 p.m. at Cody Park. The kids’ mile starts at 5 p.m. and the 5K will follow afterward.

The proceeds from the event support Make-A-Families in Nebraska. In past years, they have donated as much as ten thousand dollars to the organizations.
