Love Capsule: Why I married a Korean man after my 1st marriage - Times of India

makaanlontong.blogspot.com
After my first marriage turned out to be a big disaster, I lost all faith in love and the institution of marriage. My toxic husband had taken away all my happiness and I was left sorrowful and alone. I had vowed to never be with another man again. I wanted to build my own tribe by myself and be my own boss without anyone ever making me feel like a loser again.
I soon resumed work after my divorce and completey gave in to my projects. I had the good luck to travel to other countries for projects and meetings and this helped me forget my personal life temporarily. This one time I had been to South Korea and let me say, it quickly became one of my favourite places. The place, the people and the vibe there are unmatchable. I love how close-knit everyone was. I absolutely adored their culture. Everyone loves to dress in really fashionable clothes and are always on their toes. The best part of all this was how Koreans greet each other—with a lot of care and respect.
My colleague in Korea was the one who showed me the ropes of a beautiful country. He took me to different places and even made me wear a traditional Korean dress when we went for dinner. He was very charming and caring. Besides our professional relationship, he quickly became a good friend whom I chatted a lot with. He was dependable, courteous and charming! I could understand why Koreans and Korean culture had become so popular across the world.
My attraction towards this man grew with time. We kept talking even when I came back to India and he was in Seoul, Korea. When I went back to Korea two years later, the bond between us remained the same; I would even say, it became stronger. It was during that business trip that he proposed to me, asking for us to be together. I was shocked but indeed very happy. I know that I had vowed to never marry a man again but this man made me feel so precious, happy and loved that I wanted to take a second chance at love. I said yes, and we began dating.
It has been 5 years since that day and last year, we got married in a traditional Indian and Korean wedding. My parents were really emotional to see me happy at last and didn’t oppose this cultural difference as well. They embraced their son-in-law with open arms. I think the reason I decided to marry my Korean husband was because of his beautiful culture and manners that I fell in love with him. There’s something special about his country that I just couldn’t let go. Finding love a second time after divorce was the best thing to happen to me!
