The link has been strong between the Cleveland Browns and free agent safety Jessie Bates. After the Browns cut John Johnson III, there has been tons of smoke that they will pursue Bates strongly when free agency opens up. And now, according to Cleveland dot com’s Mary Kay Cabot, Bates would love to join forces with quarterback Deshaun Watson.
The Browns have made massive strides on their staff side, swapping out Joe Woods and Mike Priefer for Jim Schwartz and Bubba Ventrone, and apparently, Cleveland has become a desirable location for those hitting the open market. As the Browns look to get back in the playoffs, look for general manager Andrew Berry to be aggressive.
