Love Is Blind Season 2 is done, and we finally know who tied the knot, and who couldn’t go through with it. It’s been a truly dramatic season filled with more tension and arguments than happiness and romance. The six couples we’ve met aren’t proving the social experiment to be as successful as the first. And no pairing is a better example of that failure than Deepti and Shake.
Deepti and Shake met in the pods and quickly hit things off. Shake makes a major blunder with most of the women in the pods from the get go, asking how much each of them weigh, or if they’re hot. I mean, he’s the epitome of everything women loathe in online dating. But quickly noticing the error of his ways, he changes course, especially once he meets Deepti.
While both Shake and Deepti are Indian, Shake admits he’s primarily dated (and previously only expressed attraction) to white women. Still, he barrels ahead, looking to subvert his own internal prejudices because of his strong emotional attraction to Deepti – or so we thought.
They meet outside the pods, and Shake and Deepti’s relationship progresses. But there’s a gigantic elephant in the room: Shake repeatedly and loudly proclaims to anyone who’ll listen that he’s not attracted to Deepti in any way. He convinces her to take things slow while he works on his attraction to her, but really just talks to everyone, including his own mother, about how he doesn’t feel what he keeps calling “animalistic attraction” to Deepti. Either he wants to be the villain of the season, or he’s too much of a tool to see he’s the most hated guy on the show.
Once they make it to the altar, Deepti turns him down, because of course. Instead of looking sad or dejected though, Shake sees the rejection as a time to party with his friends. A poised Deepti leaves with her parents, and hopefully stays far, far, away from Shake.

Are Deepti and Shake still together?
Thankfully no. They’re not. On Instagram, Deepti’s brother posted a heartfelt and scathing note about fans’ reaction to Deepti and Shake’s relationship.
“We wish you didn’t pick that clown but despite his childishness, you carried yourself with grace and continued to see the good in people,” the post read.
After thanking fans for all their love and support, the post directly calls out Shake, calling him a “loser.”
“We welcomed you into our home, and you saw it as an opportunity for clout; so forgive me if I’m not sympathetic towards you and the hate you’re receiving,” the post continued.
