MORTON (HOI) - Residents in Morton will soon get the chance to see themselves on the silver screen this fall.
But for right now, they can get an early taste with the new trailer released for 'Baking Up Love.'
Long Island-based film company Gemelli Films used Morton as the setting for the faith-based romantic comedy, which is now in its post-production phase.
The official trailer released this week is meant to showcase not only the family aspects of the film, but also the unique characteristics of the "Pumpkin Capital of the World."
"We had hundreds of people from Morton, Peoria- people came from Indiana people came from Iowa to be apart of 'Baking Up Love' as background."
Candice Cain, President, Gemelli Films
'Baking Up Love' stars Alix Kermes as the owner of The Confectionery, which is an actual bakery in Morton located on 131 S. Plum Ave.
Heart of Illinois ABC spoke to Missy Byrd who plays Lynn's best friend Desiree in the film.
"I was a kid in a candy store- a kid in a pumpkin store you know... The movie is about and for the locals of Morton. And I think you really see- every single scene you will see someone that you know. If you live in Morton, or if you've visited Morton you'll see someone that you know in that movie and I think it will bring a feeling of pride."

A theatrical release is still in the works for residents to see 'Baking Up Love' in theaters this fall.
Plus, the film is expected to be released on the streaming service Pure Flix September 1.
