Love Island: Caleb Addresses 'Death Threats' From Fans After Justine Breakup - Screen Rant

In the wake of Love Island USA season 2 winners Caleb Corprew and Justine Ndiba’s breakup, Caleb expressed to his followers in a post that he has been receiving death threats following the couple’s split. Caleb and Justine were the golden couple of Love Island USA season 2. Justine was a fan-favorite right out the gate. She and Cely won fans over with their genuine friendship and the love they had for each other.

The friendship spilled over into the outside world and Justine was there when Cely and Johnny broke up. Now it seems that Cely may need to be there for Justine. Caleb, on the other hand, was a slow burn for viewers but they began paying attention to him when he expressed interest in Justine. As their relationship progressed on the show many people were excited at the prospect of having the first Black couple to win Love Island, in the entire franchise’s history. Now, Justine and Caleb have chosen to part ways. Although it appears that the breakup is peaceful, fans have begun sending Caleb death threats.

Caleb posted a few words following the initial breakup post on his Instagram saying, “What a strange feeling it is to wake up death threats.” The Love Island USA winner went on to explain that although people may have been fans of their relationship, “It is impossible to capture the complexity of one’s identity or character through a screen.” Caleb went on to say that his character has come into question as people have tried speculating on why they broke up. It is no secret that fans started a rumor of infidelity but both parties have not said anything regarding the reason why they broke up. He alluded to feeling the weight of sharing his life with the world saying and feared what he would have left to give to his loved ones.

Obviously, the toll of being in the spotlight affected Caleb and Justine’s relationship. Fans are heartbroken but at the end of the day if two adults decide they are not a fit for each other then all they can do is walk away. True fans will continue to support the two in their individual endeavors no matter what they may be.

It seems that a lot of season 2 Love Island USA couples have broken up: from Lauren and Carrington, to Cely and Johnny, now Justine and Caleb. The only season 2 Love Island USA couple together is Mackenzie and Connor, the relationship most viewers thought would not last. However, life happens, and nothing truly does last forever.
