Central New York native and meme queen Tiffany Pollard revealed she’s engaged during an “I Love New York” reunion Tuesday night.
Vulture reports the VH1 special focused on the HBIC’s reality TV career, which began with Flavor Flav’s “Flavor of Love” in 2006, and revisited the “ones who got away,” including her ex-fiancé Tailor Made, who won season 2 of “I Love New York.” The special was relatively tame until Pollard told host Vivica A. Fox she’s got a new fiancé, who proposed less than a month ago (ahem, after the reunion special was announced).
“To find love the way I did, I stopped looking for it, and it literally found me, and I’m engaged, just 21 days old,” Pollard said.
She wouldn’t say who she’ll be walking down the aisle with, but credited her time on dating shows with helping her find love: “Doing this experience has taught me my love language, and has brought me full circle as a woman.”
Pollard, once described as a “walking time bomb of awesomeness for reality TV” by “Flavor of Love” casting associate Douglas Howington, is a graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School in Utica. Her dramatic appearances and quotable personality, including the self-appointed nickname “H.B.I.C. (Head B---- In Charge)”, made her a fan favorite.
Pollard, 38, was known as “New York” when she was the runner-up for two years in a row on the Public Enemy rapper’s series and then got her own show, “I Love New York.” She became briefly engaged to winners Patrick “Tango” Hunter (season 1) and George “Tailor Made” Weisberger (season 2) before appearing in spinoffs like “New York Goes to Hollywood” and “New York Goes to Work.”
Some of her most quotable moments remain popular on social media today, appearing in internet memes like “Beyonce?!?” and “Speak on it.”
She’s returned to the spotlight in recent years, getting her breast implants fixed on “Botched,” appearing on the UK series “Celebrity Big Brother,” and hosting “Brunch with Tiffany” on VH1. She also appeared on “Family Therapy,” “Scared Famous,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “Ex on the Beach” and “Sharknado 5: Global Swarming.”
