Some might call it a Pandemic Miracle!
Just over a year ago, prompted by the COVID-19 struggles facing families in her neighborhood, Rhiannon Menn founded an organization called "Lasagna Love." She and others began delivering lasagna dinners to families hard hit by the pandemic. Thanks mostly to word of mouth, "Lasagna Love" started to take hold.
An appearance on NBC's Today show sent interest soaring, and volunteers all over the country began baking lasagna meals for those having a rough time because of COVID-19.
Recently, Townsquare Sunday host Jim Phillips learned there is a Southcoast branch of "Lasagna Love" based in Wareham.
Whitney Tully is the Regional Leader who has at her fingertips contact numbers for 70 volunteers who have the time and the means to whip up lasagna dinners at almost a moment's notice. They've churned out hundreds of meals during the past year.
During her Townsquare Sunday interview, Whitney discussed the "Lasagna Love" experience, what it means to help others, and how you can get involved. Her interview can be heard here:
Townsquare Sunday is a public service program heard every Sunday at 6 am on 1420 WBSM. The program spotlights individuals and organizations working to make Greater New Bedford a better place to live and work,
