The Deshaun Watson-Texans trade drama has become the story of the NFL in recent weeks, even sharing a stage with Super Bowl 55 as the most impactful event in the league.
So it makes sense that everyone would express their opinion on the situation, from the Texans' complete mismanagement to Watson's cryptic tweets. Even Brett Favre was asked to share his opinion in a Monday interview with Yahoo! Sports.
Favre exhibited an old-school take on Watson's request to be traded out of Houston.
"I’m kind of old school. I think you know, you play, you get paid a ton of money to do a certain job, and just do it, and let the chips fall where they may," Favre said. "I think we make too much money to voice an opinion, but I’m not saying he’s wrong. I think it’s a different day and time and it’ll be interesting to see how the organization handles it."

To his credit, Favre — who entered the league in 1991 — specified his opinion comes from a time in the league where player demands were "almost unheard of," and certainly isn't reflective of the modern NFL. He demonstrated as much by pointing out how players such as John Elway and Eli Manning were notable exceptions to the rule when they demanded where they would and wouldn't play.
Regardless, his opinion isn't likely to endear him to many, and certainly not with the way Houston has treated its quarterback: trading away top receiver DeAndre Hopkins for one, but also ignoring his input for coach and GM hires.
This isn't the first time Favre has been in the news recently, either. The Hall of Fame quarterback on Saturday spoke with TMZ Sports and made headlines when he suggested the Jaguars use their No. 1 pick of the draft on DeVonta Smith instead of Trevor Lawrence.
