One Ocean Springs girl now has a new place to play after the Make-A-Wish Foundation came together to give her a big surprise this afternoon.
It’s a surprise fit for a princess! “We had no idea it was going to be this amazing or this extravagant, so you know it’s a big excitement.”
Three-year-old Harper Andrew is currently battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia and is regularly receiving treatment in Mobile. Throughout her cancer battle, her parents Kaitlyn and Stephen say she’s remains a beacon of positivity. “She handles it better than we could have ever expected. I mean, she’s just like a little ray of sunshine about it.”
Over the past few months, the crew at the Make-A-Wish Foundation got to work making Harper’s wish come true, incorporating her love of the ‘Frozen’ movie series into a large playhouse, equipped with a loft area and plenty of toys to play with. “She calls Frozen ‘Go” because of ‘Let it Go’ the song, so she loves every part of both of the movies, the songs, the characters, everything.”
Make-A-Wish Foundation Board of Directors Shelley Chennault said, “It’s from top to bottom, air conditioning, lighting in here, there’s a control panel, there’s pillows and decorations.”
As they prepare to make many fun memories, the Andrew’s are excited that Harper has a new and safe place to channel her inner Elsa. “It’s great to have a safe spot that’s germ free and everything that she can play in every day and play with her little brother and be able to just come in her backyard and have that fun spot that’s made and created just for her.”
